Aurea Leszczynski Vieira Goncálvez, SESC São Paulo
Aurea Leszczynski Vieira Goncálvez is the manager of International Affairs at SESC SP, where she has been working since 2004. Aurea holds a degree in Philosophy from the Federal University of Uberlândia and a postgraduate degree in Cultural Management from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation. In 2008/2009, she coordinated the French Year in Brazil through the Brazilian Commissioner’s Office, chaired by Danilo Miranda at the time. Since then, she has been the recipient of invitations to take part in international delegations that conduct cultural assessments around the world. Aurea has been a member of ISPA (International Society for Performing Arts) since 2010; was selected as a Young Cultural Leader at the Global Salzburg Seminar in Salzburg, in 2012; was a member of the Global Delegation at the Edinburgh Festivals in 2012; attended Goethe Institut’s closed Cultural Management Conference in Berlin, 2012; and studied Financement et Économie de la Culture at the Paris Dauphine University, in Paris, in 2009. Aurea is responsible for SESC’s international institutional partnerships, which include partners such as the Institut Français, the French Consulate General, the British Council, Goethe Institut, the Adam Mickiewicz Foundation, Edinburgh Festivals, New Museum, MoMA, Acción Española, Frankfurt Trade Fair, La Fabrica, the Robert Sterling Clark Foundation, Cité de la Musique, ZKM, Dutch Culture, Bogota Festival, Santiago a Mil, ISCA, OITS, and SEGIB, to name a few. She was awarded the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres medal in 2011 and the Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur medal, in 2017, both formally endorsed by the government of France. In 2018, Brazil’s government acknowledged her as Oficial of Rio Branco Order.
