As developers face demands to provide new housing within Berlin, how does this balance this against the city’s social and cultural responsibility towards creative community spaces?
Currently one of Berlin’s largest creative quarters, the Gerichtshöfe began in the early 1980s and is home to independent artists and small creative companies. However, after more than 30 years, these workspaces are facing an uncertain future as they negotiate against forced redevelopment into apartments and student housing.
