Education and school systems have been the topic of much debate in Berlin recently, with education also playing an important role in the 2017 nation-wide election campaigns. The Nordic countries are often mentioned as role models. This event is intended to contribute to the education debate in Germany, and provide insight into the Nordic countries’ schools. Among other things, architects, futurologists and school directors will discuss the following questions: What are Nordic countries discussing in terms of schools – both the institution and the buildings – and what ideas are being implemented? On flexible and open spaces replacing traditional classrooms – what role do light, acoustics and free space play? To what extent can they have a positive effect on learning? How is digitalisation changing schools? Future schools should fit future societies, but above all students of tomorrow – what new needs are emerging?
After 18:00 the panel discussion will be followed by a reception.
