All conversion processes involve a starting point and an endpoint. Every endpoint becomes a new starting point. Every result forms the cornerstone of a new transformation. To varying degrees, conversion processes can be fast or slow, close or distant, radical or conservative. Through this, transformation and renewal take place. We never start from scratch: something of the old is always preserved in the new. From/To. The rooms of Lindower 22 showcase how asastudio projects always start out with the concept of conversion processes. Here, contemporary art, hybridisation and a “schizophrenic” approach all play a decisive role. The studio itself is transformed, evolves, expands, becomes something else altogether.
