The Berlin-based DieNachwachsendeStadt – NWS Network is dedicated to investigating questions of growth, density, resource usage, ownership models, participation and self-determination in the urban laboratory of Berlin. The Network’s members and partners work in an interdisciplinary team, developing models using transdisciplinary methods, which may affect meaningful transformation in the dynamic living organism that is the modern city. Their projects envision a city of shared knowledge that is dedicated to the maintenance of its human livelihood. Various events, including the symposiums Circular City and ReGrow Berlin – as well as a series of teaching events – will be accompanied by exhibitions. The pilot project BuildingCycle from the Natural Building Lab will be permanently open to visitors as an example of circular building.
