Lichtenberg is a diverse district with very different forms of housing and a mixed population. In light of current debates on the housing shortage in Berlin, it is also necessary to have a closer look at its development: What can we learn from the forms of housing that have already been tried out? What did not work out as expected, and what can the inhabitants tell us about their old and new homes? With regard to the former division of Berlin it is of particular interest to track the extent to which these “homes” have changed after the German reunification. What (mental, social) walls and barriers still exist? Guerilla Architects will be on the road with their mobile architecture office, creating a forum where locals get a change to speak about their neighbourhoods. Building city furniture together at each site creates the infrastructure for the next station. The project provides a low-threshold opportunity animating various groups to participate and exchange with one another. All participants will be rewarded with a building kit for recreating urban furniture.
Meetingpoint: roundabout in the middle of the park (see map below)
