Elena Schütz, Something Fantastic
Elena Schütz studied architecture at ETH Zurich and the University of the Arts Berlin and, together with Julian Shcubert and Leonard Streich, founded Something Fantastic. The office’s work includes pilot projects for communal housing in Flanders, the Book Something Fantastic, as of 2015 the visual identity of Artek, the fashion shows of Perret Schaad, the pendent lamp “Crystal” designed for New Tendency, the design of the German Pavilion at the 15th La Biennale di Venezia, and the art direction for the books of Ruby Press including designs for, amongst others, 51N4E, Lacaton & Vassal and Pier Vittorio Aureli. Since 2013 the partners Schütz, Schubert, and Streich teach the Master of Advanced Studies in Urban Design at the chair of Marc Angélil at ETH Zurich with a focus on rapidly developing urban contexts. Other research and educational projects include collaborations with Harvard University and Yokohama GSA.
