Jonas Norsted, Architect and Partner Atelier Oslo

Jonas Norsted, born 1973, has his diploma from the Oslo school of Architecture in 2001.

He has been working as an architect in the offices of Lund Hagem, Oslo and Eric Lapierre, Paris previous of starting his own practice.

In 2006 he was one of 4 founding partners in the architecture office Atelier Oslo. The office has up to now been winning several national and international competitions, with the new City Library of Oslo as the most prestigious of them. Atelier Oslo is working in all scales with different programs from small to large sizes, always trying to seek out surprising outcome and smart solutions. The work of the office has been published worldwide and is regularly invited to lecture about the projects. Today Atelier Oslo has 15 employees.

One of the recent key projects of the Atelier Oslo has been the transformation of an old bank building in the city center of Oslo into the cultural hub called Sentralen, where Jonas Norsted was one of the project leaders. Sentralen challenges Oslo’s traditional ways of preservation and rebuilding, what to take care of and what to renew in the old building structures.

Besides the work in the office Jonas Norsted has also been teaching in the Oslo School of Architecture and the Berlage in Nederland.
