Colloquially dismissed as “distance green”, the unprogrammed spaces between buildings and zones of movement have – if any at all –qualities that are purely visual. Embracing the renaissance of inner city living and seeking inspiration from countries where the climatic conditions allow for all-year-round usage of outside spaces – such as the tropics – results in a shift of focus: the positive potential of such surplus spaces, a legacy of modernist town planning, is revealed. Aside from an attitude receptive towards the unusual, the only thing necessary during this session is simple, flexible furniture. And that’s exactly what you’ll find outside Leipziger Strasse 61.
