How do we want to live – not only now but as we age? This question, asked by several women living alone, was the starting point for a community-based residential project. In Berlin more than 600,000 women live on their own – a challenge which must be met by modern, future-oriented living concepts.
A community residential project offers the freedom and security to develop such ideas. Beginenwerk have set out to create a community based on voluntary participation and awareness. The result? A lively, intimate neighbourhood in which women of all ages, single or attached, can live in solidarity – maintaining and determining their own level independence.
