Stadt als Campus (City as a Campus) works to develop an active, knowledge-based urban environment for everyday life. In close cooperation with municipalities, cultural and educational initiatives along with businesses and real estate agencies, a federal network of city makers and universities is seeking to show how cities can be transformed into campuses. With this goal in mind, the project largely focuses its efforts upon small to medium-sized towns and areas which are polycentric in nature. As cities move towards the campus ideal, a cooperative of communities with shared responsibilities is emerging, as are new business models and ultimately, cities that are more ‘liveable’. Jovis and Stadt als Campus e.V. jointly host this event which will consider a current focus of the project’s efforts: the CLB Collaboratorium im Aufbau Haus.
