HUB
The Make City festival centre has made a home for itself at the Czech Centre on Wilhelmstraße. In walking distance, on Leipziger Straße the former Czechoslovakian cultural centre can be found. Just like its counterpart, Leipziger Str.60 - now a.k.a. Konzulát - is a remarkable building with a grand soviet-style marble foyer with huge windows onto the city. With still affordable rent, the building represents one of the last examples of an interim use for young creatives in Berlin Mitte.
Make City will host an opening party at Konzulát on the 10th of June as well as a closing bash on the 27th. Konzulát opened at the end of last year and comprises offices, temporary exhibition spaces and a club. Now there is the chance to experience the building and catch a glimpse of this hybrid space in daylight hours. The Konzulát-Studios count among its tenants graphic- and product designers, architects, artists and even an opera singer – all cohabiting and sharing the space with the Club Konzulát under the same remarkable roof. The Hub will be open for visitors on the weekend of 27-28th of June as part of the 2015 Tag der Architektur. See you there.
