Program

The research project fertighaus5+ of the Institut für urbanen Holzbau (Institute for Urban Wood Building) has proved to be worth the efforts that went towards it. The prototype of a wooden residential building with garden, balconies and a shared roof terrace for 13 families, 3xGRÜN, has been now been realized at Görschstraße in Pankow. The wooden building was designed collaboratively by three architects: Philipp Koch, Daniel Rozynski and Christop Roedig. Today, around 50 people enjoy living in the pleasing environment that the pinewood structure provides. This frame is visible in the building’s floors and ceilings, but is otherwise hidden from view. From the apple trees in the garden all the way up to the green terrace on the roof, 3xGRÜN’s residents and members of the joint building group have managed to create a wholly ecological home for themselves.
