Keynote: Roger Zogolovitch, Solidspace

AADipl, RIBA. FRSA is a developer and the creative director of Solidspace. He is the author of a new book ‘Shouldn’t we all be developers’ first published in July 2015.

The book outlines a manifesto of gap site development and sends a clarion call to architects to consider their own development to add value to their lives and to that of the city in which they live and work. His development approach works to exploit the opportunities of the gap site by using the Solidspace volume DNA. Each project contributes to the city exploring his ‘development as art’ approach to slow development.

New housing projects have completed in London at Weston St; Southwark, Shepherdess Walk; Islington, Centaur Street; Waterloo, Essex Mews; Crystal Palace and Stapleton Hall Road; Stroud Green, and The Houseboat on Poole Harbour, Dorset. All made in collaboration with architects respectively Simon Allford, Jean Paul Jaccaud and Tanya Zein, dRMM, Matthew Wood, Stephen Taylor and Meredith Bowles. They are all built using the Solidspace internal DNA.

RIBA regional award 2017 and 2018 have been won for The Houseboat and Weston Street. The Houseboat also won Stephen Lawrence Award 2018

He is chair of the RA Project Board which has been responsible as client for the completion of the new Royal Academy transforming Burlington Gardens and linking it to Burlington House. He is honorary surveyor to the RA. He chairs Southwark Design Review and is a regular judge for WAF, AR MIPIM awards and AJ100.
