Berlin is a green city — not least thanks to the many trees! They are everywhere: in streets and schoolyards, in cemeteries, and of course on playgrounds. But what would Berlin look like if we could also inhabit the treetops? Join our workshop, and let your own ideas become realities: together we build architectural models from miniature trees and other materials. Members of the Copenhagen architecture lab All about A will help you craft your own tree house model. You get to take it home with you — naturally! (Children under 7 must be accompanied by an adult). HUB Felleshus, Nordic Embassies: “Each autonomous, yet together”. The design by Austrian-Finnish office Berger+Parkkinen for the site’s overall concept, perfectly captures the idea of a strong community built of pure individuals. The copper band encompassing the Felleshus (Pan-Nordic Building) and the five embassies – each of which were designed quite distinctively by architects of the respective countries – has since become a famous landmark in Berlin. As part of Make City, several events will be hosted: Nordic Schools of Tomorrow (panel discussion), guided tours (including the embassies, which are usually not open to the public), and children’s workshops.
