HUB
L40 – Verein zur Förderung von Kunst und Kultur am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz e.V. was founded in 2004 as an organisation without a space with a focus on site-specific art. It aims to address the question of how - if at all - art can help us to imagine the development of cities as a shared process involving artists, architects and citizens. In 2011 an exhibition space was established on the 2nd floor of Linienstrasse 40 along with a public project space in the foyer of that building.

Program

The most recent commission by Kunstverein am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz is a site-specific work by Michael Beutler called “Wechselstuben” (“Exchange offices”). Combining a camp with a futuristic aesthetic more akin to shopping malls, the white wedge houses that Beuter has created are a typical example of the artist’s archi-sculpture, which attempts to demonstrate an awareness of its surrounding context whilst also exploring the potential of such space.

ITINERANT INTERLUDES presents short performative interpolations by outstanding musicians in conversation with select art works throughout Berlin. For #26 renowned banjo-man Seth Josel will play at, in, around and on Michael Beutler’s site-specific pavillon structure WECHSELSTUBEN
