Program

The architecture and urban planning that took place during the 1960s continues to shape Berlin’s cityscape today. St. Agnes, designed by Werner Düttmann and completed in 1967 is an example of the Brutalist style of post-war architecture that was viewed critically for many years. Following the Catholic Church’s abandonment of the building, Arno Brandlhuber transformed it into an exhibition space for Galerie Johan König.

As part of the exhibition Radically Modern, this Open House event will provide an insight into Brandlhuber’s concept, and also serve as a forum in which to discuss the legacy of German post-war Brutalism as well as the establishment of a new cultural hub for Berlin in the future.
