Program

Artis is the prime example of inner-city manufacturing in Berlin. Set up in 1994 as a classic carpentry, it developed from a company that primarily produced booths for conferences and expositions into one which offers, apart from furniture and interior design, innovative manufacturing processes and detailed planning. Since February 2012 Artis has been established at Columbiadamm – a central, inner-city location – in a building designed by Ziegert Roswag Seiler Architekten as an energy-efficient, wooden structure. The numerous awards that the building has received since then demonstrate that applying environmentally-conscious building processes to a centrally-located industrial facility need not preclude beautiful design. Not only the Factory Workshop and its planning process, but also  local, political and financial obstacles of downtown manufacturing will be explained during the tour.

2 Presentations of the Factory Workshop at 4pm or 6pm
