Program

In 1955, architects Paul Schwebes and Hans Schoszberger created a neat, transparent ensemble that came to symbolise West Germany’s post-war reconstruction era: Bikinihaus. Recently refurbished as Berlin’s first ‘Concept Shopping Mall’ by Hild und K Architects, the new incarnation employs a unique modular system without sacrificing the delicate elegance of the original structure. The concept “Bikini boxes”-are small, temporary units spread out like islands across the entire hall which are available for pop-up retail experiments.

This tour, led by Architect Dyonis Ottl who was responsible for the restoration, will include a stroll through his favourite feature: the publically accessible 7,000 square meter roof terrace overlooking the Zoologischergarten grounds.
